The picture shows a Pride parade in Kramgasse in Bern. Many participants are wearing rainbow flags and colourful clothing, some are holding umbrellas. Numerous rainbow flags are hung above the crowd. A sign reading "LOVE is LOVE" can be seen in the background. The buildings lining the street are historic and add to the festive atmosphere. The parade participants seem to be enjoying themselves despite the possibility of rain, which emphasises the cheerful and inclusive mood of the event.

Bern Pride

A peaceful protest, vibrant outfits, dancing, glitter, flags and signs bring all the colours of the rainbow and more to the streets of Bern on August 3rd, in tune with this year’s BernPride motto: “Bunt. Laut. Bern.” – colourful, loud, Bern.

TOP-EVENT

Thousands of people come together in solidarity at the BernPride to take a stand for the queer community. The event begins with a protest parade at 2:30 pm, when the colourful crowd marches from the Schützenmatte through the city centre to Parliament Square and, together with three music vehicles, fills the streets of Bern with music and dancing. In such a fun, lively atmosphere, even the Zytglogge (Clock Tower) will want to toll to the beat!

Upon arrival at Parliament Square, a varied programme awaits:  there are speeches, drag shows and a joyous, celebratory atmosphere. In keeping with the motto, most of the acts are from the Bern area. If you are still on your feet by the late evening and in the mood for more, there are plenty of options to keep going.
